May 11, 2010
To know what you are “eating” in the foods that you buy it’s important to start paying attention to the labels and the list of ingredients. If you can’t pronounce the ingredient it’s a chemical that in time will cause problems and disease to your body.
12 Chemicals/Additives/Preservatives you should be aware to avoid when buying processed foods at your favorite Grocery store:
- Sodium Nitrate – Proven that in the long run can cause cancer
- BHA – Butylated Hydroxyanisole and BHT Butylated Hydrozyttoluene
- Propyl Gallate
- MSG – Monosodium Glutamate
- Trans Fats – Eating 2 grams a day can affect your Heart or have a Stroke
- Aspartame – Phenalalanine/Phenylketonuria – Diet sweetener used in different foods and sodas. Monsanto the Company that produces the diet sweetener through the years has changed it’s name. The new name given to this diet sweetener is “Aminosweet”.
- Acesulfame-K – A sweetener used in 1998
- Food Colorings – Carcinogens causing tumors: Blue 1 and 2, Red 3, Green 3 and Yellow 6 (Kidney tumors)

Food is not only to enjoy – food is what gives nutrients to your body and these nutrients are absorbed during the digestion process. So if you are eating lots of chemicals that is what you are giving your body instead of the nourishment that needs to keep you healthy and with energy. Pay attention and ask yourself - if you can’t pronounce it why eat it…
