Intaking an excess of Sugar on a day-to-day basis because you are eating emotionally instead of paying attention to what “fuel” are you feeding your body will result, in time, in the following significant consequences:
1. Throwing off your body’s Homeostasis - The body’s natural chemical balance.
2. Supress your Immune System – weakened defenses against Bacterial and Viral infections.
3. Produce a significant increase in your Triglycerides – Sugar becomes fat in the body
4. Cause Kidney damage.
5. Increase your harmful Cholesterol LDL
6. Chromium and Copper deficiency.
7. Interfere with absorption of Calcium and Magnesium.

Sugar can be as addictive as any other drug out there; that same repetitive need to have it constantly because it makes you feel good for a moment by rainsing the Neurotransmitter Serotonin. Our daily food intake is about given the right nutrients to the body so we can have better energy, focus and concentration through out our day. Eating some sugar here and there is not going to change the chemistry of your body. But if you continue including sugar as part of your daily diet it will, by making you feel moody and depressed in time. Like any other drug you will feel exhilerated at the beginning making you want to eat it more often, and like any other drug in time you will feel the adverse effects in your mood and energy levels.
What’s even more scary is that the Food Industry is putting more and more in processed foods a “new sugar” called High Fructose Corn Syrup - HFCS - a toxic chemical concoction that nobody really knows exactly what it is. So if you are eating lots of sweets and processed foods and you are always feeling tired and depressed and you don’t know why this is happening maybe it’s time to be responsible and pay attention to your body and that “fuel” that you are using to make yourself feel good. Ask yourself, would you give your car a “toxic fuel” that would impair it’s functioning and in time affect the engine? So when are you going to stop messing with your body?
Remember, your body and the foods that you eat are mainly your responsibility. By eating sugar constantly as if it was a major nutrient is only going to contribute to cause illness and disease to your body. If you feel your sugar cravings are controling you, clearly that means that the Homeostasis of your body is completely out of balance and you need to take action.
This list shows only some of the ways Sugar can be damaging to your health. It can be damaging to you and if you have children it can be damaging to them by contributing to child Obesity and Type II Diabetes.
Better Sugars to eat on a daily basis are Fruits that have Fiber, Minerals and Enzymes! Many times I’ve heard people’s concerns in eating Fruits because of the sugar that they contain… Well, how about that morning muffin and the candy-bar that you eat in the afternoon, or the pint of ice cream and cookies in the evening? Believe me, your health would be better if instead you would eat more of the healthy Fruits – Organic would be even better.
