Sugar can be as addictive as any other drug out there; that same repetitive need to have it constantly because it makes you feel good for a moment by rainsing the Neurotransmitter Serotonin. Our daily food intake is about given the right nutrients to the body so we can have better energy, focus and concentration through out our day. Eating some sugar here and there is not going to change the chemistry of your body. But if you continue including sugar as part of your daily diet it will, by making you feel moody and depressed in time. Like any other drug you will feel exhilerated at the beginning making you want to eat it more often, and like any other drug in time you will feel the adverse effects in your mood and energy levels.
What’s even more scary is that the Food Industry is putting more and more in processed foods a “new sugar” called High Fructose Corn Syrup - HFCS - a toxic chemical concoction that nobody really knows exactly what it is. So if you are eating lots of sweets and processed foods and you are always feeling tired and depressed and you don’t know why this is happening maybe it’s time to be responsible and pay attention to your body and that “fuel” that you are using to make yourself feel good. Ask yourself, would you give your car a “toxic fuel” that would impair it’s functioning and in time affect the engine? So when are you going to stop messing with your body?
Remember, your body and the foods that you eat are mainly your responsibility. By eating sugar constantly as if it was a major nutrient is only going to contribute to cause illness and disease to your body. If you feel your sugar cravings are controling you, clearly that means that the Homeostasis of your body is completely out of balance and you need to take action.

Better Sugars to eat on a daily basis are Fruits that have Fiber, Minerals and Enzymes! Many times I’ve heard people’s concerns in eating Fruits because of the sugar that they contain… Well, how about that morning muffin and the candy-bar that you eat in the afternoon, or the pint of ice cream and cookies in the evening? Believe me, your health would be better if instead you would eat more of the healthy Fruits – Organic would be even better.

Use Your Subconscious Will Power and Change Your Life

Have you ever met someone who was nice and slim and could eat everything they wanted? You know the type – people with perfect metabolism. I have – my Mother and my older Sister – they could eat sweets every day and not gain an ounce. I felt like just from watching them I gained the weight instead – don’t you hate people like that? I once saw my older Sister lose 10 pounds in one week in front of my eyes even though she was eating more and more due to a stressful situation our family was going through. She would eat the richest chocolate cakes that she could find, drink sodas or fattening milkshakes and not gain an ounce. I am not one of those lucky people.
Unfortunately for me I inherited my Father’s metabolism and through out my life I’ve had the problem of either being in shape, being overweight or have had to exercise for long periods of time to burn what I ate through out each day. That’s no way of living your day-to-day life, worrying constantly about “food”.
In my high school years I was close to 25 pounds heavier than I am now and from then on my weight went up and down. At the age of 32 I was almost 35 pounds heavier then I needed to be. At 5’2” that’s too much weight to carry. At some point I started running and working out with a Personal Trainer and although this was a very positive step I still didn’t lose all the weight that I needed. I realized something was missing.
Later on I started attending a school to learn about Hypnosis to pursue a career in that field. It was at that time that everything started to fell into place in many areas of my life including weight loss. As I learned more I realized that I needed to change certain beliefs and behaviors about food and that Hypnosis was one of the keys that would finally unlock my success with weight loss and health. When I started using Hypnosis to help my clients lose weight, I realized that something else was missing. Hypnosis helped with cravings and old habits but if I wanted to help my clients keep the weight off forever I needed to learn more about food. That’s when I realized that the final secret to unlock my success and my client’s success was to learn about Nutrition and so I did. I learned that many of the foods from my Guatemalan upbringing were the culprits in my struggle with weight. In my culture white rice, tortillas and breads are a daily staple. After learning about what happens to these foods when I eat them and with the use of Hypnosis – at this time – I don’t feel the need to eat them anymore.
I am in shape now. I finally feel that I am in control of my food and what I eat at my meal times. It took a while and lots of experimenting, dieting that didn’t work and finally understanding how my body reacts to the foods that I eat. By using the word reacts I mean – I either nourish my body with healthy foods or I give foods to my body that will cause it to gain weight. We need to eat to survive – what we don’t need is to eat out of stress or eat emotionally to make ourselves feel better.
Hypnosis is a gentle relaxation process by which a person can change behaviors at a much deeper level (I now call it our subconscious will power) instead of just using our conscious will power that is so overworked because of everything that has to control through our day-to-day living.

Hypnosis a Powerful Tool in Complementary Cancer Care

Complementary therapies, while not given the attention that more traditional cancer therapies may receive, are perhaps equally important while undergoing treatment for certain types of cancer. Patients diagnosed with difficult to treat malignancies will often use these types of therapies in conjunction with traditional surgical, chemotherapeutic, or radiology techniques to form a more comprehensive and effective treatment regimen. Among the most important and effective alternative therapies utilized by those diagnosed with cancer is hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy has been used for many years in clinical settings. Hypnotherapy’s role in cancer management however, is relatively new and indications are that its utilization has not been fully maximized yet. Effective cancer treatment often depends on the patient’s ability to not only defeat the cancer through treatments but also to maintain their health and mental spirit throughout the painful side effects of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation.
Often, the symptoms and effects of the cancer itself on the body are negligible compared to the pain and other side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. This is where acupuncture has been said to be most effective. Cancers such as peritoneal mesothelioma, which are often unable to be removed by surgical means, are often treated with some combination of chemotherapy and radiation. While these potent therapies can be effective in eliminating some of the tumor mass and growth, they also profoundly affect the health of the surrounding tissue. Symptoms of these effects including fever, nausea, and general pain have been dramatically reduced through the utilization of hypnosis. Patients, who are able to withstand these symptoms and recover quickly, will often be able to be more aggressively treated, increasing the efficacy of the treatment regimen as a whole. Some specific hypnotherapy techniques utilized in pain management include altering the neurophysical configuration of pain, control of anticipatory anxiety, and targeted imagery.
Hypnotherapy techniques may not be appropriate for all patient’s pain and individual symptoms but it’s certainly worth exploring as it can do very little harm in experimenting with integrative therapies. The goal with alternative therapies, as with traditional mesothelioma treatments, is always to increase the effectiveness of treatment as a whole. If hypnotherapy can assist in any way in helping patients recover or manage symptoms of chemotherapy or radiation, then it will have contributed to the treatment regimens overall efficacy and should certainly be utilized.
